Godrevy Lighthouse Boat Trips

1 hour

Departing daily from St Ives Harbour.

Our Godrevy Lighthouse boat trip takes us East from St Ives harbour towards Hayle, passing the sandy beaches of Porthminster and Carbis Bay to Godrevy Lighthouse, approximately 3 miles away. You will also see the mouth of Hayle Estuary as we near the lighthouse and the sandy white saltings of Lelant.

There are two separate rock formations at Godrevy, on which one stands the lighthouse, made popular by the author Virginia Woolfe in her classic novel “The Lighthouse”.

The lighthouse is home to its own colony of Atlantic grey seals, as well as oystercatchers, gulls and pipits.

There are plenty of photo opportunities at the lighthouse and we take a good look around, spotting the seals as we go. It is really spectacular to see the waves crashing against the rocks and the lighthouse. Our passengers have taken some fantastic photos in the past.

Other wildlife we regularly see on this trip are common dolphins, sunfish, jellyfish and the occasional bluefin tuna later in the season.
